How does pet insurance work?
You have a plan pre-purchased before your pet has an accident or illness. You pay the clinic for the amount of invoice. You then submit a claim to your pet insurance provider and they will reimburse you the amount described in your plan. Most plans have a $50, $100 or $200 Deducible as well as Co-Insurance of 70%, 80%, or 90%. Some plans offer yearly deductibles others have per incident deductibles. When choosing a company make sure you are in full understanding of which type of plan you have.
